Milbank sits in Grant County in north-eastern South Dakota, close to the Minnesota border. It is best known as the birthplace of American Legion Baseball and as a hub for outdoor recreation, with several lakes and natural areas within easy reach. The town has a small but solid restaurant scene, the 4H Grounds for events, and an ice rink for winter visits. Watertown Regional Airport is the nearest commercial airport at around 54 miles; Sioux Falls and Minneapolis-Saint Paul are the practical longer-haul options.
